I look forward to seeing people at the upcoming reunion. I'm happily living in Minnesota still; call me crazy, but I do love cooler weather over hot, and also love Minnesota winters (until mid-March). I work at Minnesota State Colleges and Universities as the Director of Next Generation Technologies. While I didn't have children by birth, I have been involved in helping to raise/co-parent three boys who are all grown. The photo on the right is of my childhood friends, with whom I still stay in frequent contact: (from left to right) Margie Wilensky Fink, Sandy Schanfield Teichner, Sue Savitt, and me.

Even though I moved away before graduation, I remember my time at Central Junior and Park High. I went to ASU and taught everything from Special Education, Kinders, First, and Reading for thirty years. I  retired about ten years ago. I have been married for 28 years and have one wonderful son. I live in Scottsdale and enjoy the great weather.

Hi. I’m that guy that was least likely to succeed, most likely to end up in prison and/or die in a flop house in Tijuana, Mexico. I guess we were all wrong.

My wife, Mary Jo, and I will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary next March. I retired from IBM in 2016, after a successful 40 plus years in the IT industry.

I have a make believe, crazy friend, named Andy, who thought we could get rich by creating a GoFundMe page.

“It’s easy,” he said, “just put your name, birthday, SSN, checking account number and mother’s maiden name on the website, and wait for the money to pour in.”

I have another make believe friend, who is smart.

“Dan, I told you not to listen to Andy, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Never publish personal, sensitive data on the web.”

I guess that explains where the money went.

I love to write so I thought I would take a shot at writing a novel. At first it was going to be a true autobiographical expose, naming names, telling it like it was; but then how would I explain Andy and Andrew. So I made it a fictional memoir, and my make believe friends became the stars of the show, so they tell me.

“It’s a best seller, I knew it would be,” Andy said smugly.

“He means best cellar, as the sales are still in the basement,” corrected Andrew.

“You’re both nuts,” I said, “I shouldn’t have listened to either one of you.”

Although I did not graduate from SLPHS I consider myself to be part of the Class of ’69. I am looking forward to seeing people I don’t know, others I do and who don’t want to see me; and the few girls I would’ve asked out if my irrational fear of rejection hadn’t held me back.

I think I was on the unknown list for a long time, but have been living in St. Cloud since 1982.  I taught Jr. & Sr. High Art for eight years.  I was a stay-at-home-Mom until my youngest was in Jr. High.  Two part time jobs for 12 years, then an injury forced me to retire.  I mainly create Art quilts, attempt to keep the deer from eating my gardens and participate in pyrotechnics during the summer. Participate meaning I teach how to make shells at an international convention, help set up displays in MN and western Wis. and watch as many displays as I can manage.  Our MN Club, the NLP (Northern Lighter Pyrotechnics) shot the Best Show in MN according to MPR and Reader's Digest on July 6th, 2019.  Twenty six minutes of awesomeness, choreographed to music.  We painted pictures in the sky with comets, shot from a 100' tower we erected on the site.

I am a dinosaur. I am in solo family practice and I continue to do all my own hospital work. Besides family medicine, I have dedicated my practice to serving the GLBT and HIV infected communities.
My work in HIV/AIDS care and education has taken me Africa,Brazil, Japan,Amsterdam London,, Berlin,Monaco,Istanbul Barcilona Geneva and Paris.
I live with my partner , Christopher in North Central Phoenix. He has a doctorate in music and conducts and teaches choral music. We are busy turning a mid century ranch house into a two story Georgian Colonial; not the usual desert dwelling! I am building an 18th century kitchen garden and espallier orchard. I collect a wide variety of artwork, but do not trust me with a brush! I sing in both my church choir and in the Phoenix Metropolitan Men's Chorale. Life presents me many opportunities to be a positive force in many lives.

I moved to California in the mid 70's and have been living here since then. I have been writing for many years--feature stories for magazines and books for children.  My husband is a Private Eye. We have 3 children, two of them recently married. I still keep in contact with 5 close friends from St. Louis Park. I am flying to Mpls. for the reunion and am looking forward to seeing and connecting with classmates from a lifetime ago.

I left SLP after graduation and went to Univ of Missouri and finished at Univ of Colorado in Boulder, and then moved to San Francisco. After many different jobs in the audio-video production field (I was assistant producer of the 1984 Democratic Convention in San Francisco), at an animation and film company and then a futuristic strategic planning company, I went to graduate school in counseling and fulfilled a lifelong dream of being a psychotherapist. Have had my own practice now for 15 years and still love it. Work with adults and couples in in-depth insight therapy (if it means anything: humanistic-existential approach). I moved from SF to Half Moon Bay, a samll coastal town about a half hour south of the city and live about a 5 minute walk from the beach which I absolutely love!! After 22 years of marriage and many ups and downs, I divorced in 2002.
No kids. Dogs, cats, horses are my love. I do alot of volunteer work with animals and Democratic party.
After I stopped riding horses I took up lapidary work (jewelry making) working with silver, copper and various stones. My passion, other than the above, is travel and I finally took my dream trip to Africa a few years ago and am now working my way around Central and South America, trying to learn Spanish.

Life is good and I'm very grateful for ALL of the challenges, failures and successes for they've all taught me so much. I've grown incredibly and I'm finally completely and totally happy, with myself, my life and my surroundings.

Had lots of fun at the reunion.  Everyone looked the same...no one changed at all.  Personally, I have lived in San Francisco since 1977...my 3 kids are all in college.  I edit documentaries- am independent after working for all the networks at one time or another.  I'm very lucky....though difficult, my work is engaging, interesting and creative.  Here's to friends and fun.

I had a wonderful time at the reunion.  Great to see so many friends, but not enough time to catch up.  Thanks to Dave and all who planned it.

Time passes so quickly, impossible to believe that it has been 40 years since graduation. I have been married for 31 years to a great lady (Mary) and have three grown kids.  Will  (28) is married and recently had our first grandson; Andrea (25) is getting married in May; and son Nick (24)got married the end of September.  All great kids.

Life has ben grand for me career wise and family wise; exceeded my expectations in every way.  This June I was thrown a curve ball, diagnosed with non-smokers lung cancer. Surgery, radiation, and chemo took up my summer. Am happy to report that I am feeling great and remain hopeful all will be well.  Exchanged my old motto (Motivation Moves Mountains) with new motto: So Far So Good.

My best to all.

Can't believe it's been 40 years.  I am in San Diego now and have spent virtually my entire career working for various California cities.  I am married with two great children.  I am excited to see everyone on the 8th.  More importantly, hopefully I will recognize everyone.

What a great weekend!  Had a wonderful time reconnecting with as many of you as time allowed.  I would love to stay more connected and can be reached at cadeficit@aol.com.
