1951-10-12 2010-07-17
Bonnie Sue (Burstein) Mjelde, of St. Louis Park sadly passed away in 2010 of breast cancer at the age of 58.
Bonnie was well known as the "T-Shirt Lady" at the Minneapolis Farmer's Market. She is survived by husband Jim; son Greg (Allison) Henry; grand daughter Reagan; mother, Shirley Burstein; brother Marc (Linda) Burstein; sister Betsy (Steve) Sitkoff. Special aunt to Chera, Mollie, Abbie and Lewis and a beloved friend to many.
Bonnie’s closest friends and classmates describe Bonnie as a good friend, fun-loving, easy-going, empathetic, a great listener, generous, forgiving, and unassuming. More adjectives describing Bonnie include spiritual, unique, and non- judgmental. She was a friend to everyone she met and possessed a memorable laugh.
Other tributes left by friends:
>I smiled when I heard that Bonnie left us on 4o'clock on Saturday morning. How fitting for a market vendor! I'll hold you all close in my prayers...as a fellow vendor, I know that the market has lost a bright light.
>Bonnie and I shared the same oncologist and ran into each other frequently. She was always optimistic and went out of her way more than once to email me a referral or offer information based on her cancer experiences. Thoughtful and compassionate to the end, Bonnie was a friend who will be sorely missed.
>I have had the pleasure of working with Bonnie for over 15 years. I could not find a more wonderful and warm person to be associated with. She always made me smile and feel good about myself. Such a person will be missed but never forgotten.
