Gene was a Vietnam Navy veteran and a 27-year employee of the Metro Waste Control Commission. He retired in 2001 after learning of the heartbreaking news that he had Alzheimer’s disease. Gene loved cruising in his boat, traveling the world, and driving his pickup truck. He was a kind and caring soul who was loved by children, animals, and all who had met him.
