Karen passed away suddenly in 2016 at age 65 of a heart attack.
Karen was a beautiful, smart, intelligent, compassionate, kind woman, and loyal friend who loved her family. She lived in Uptown and then resided in Wayzata for 32 years. Karen attended Macalester College, Florida State University, and the University of Minnesota where she earned her law degree.
She died suddenly while visiting family in Texas. She is now reunited with her parents, John and Audrey, and her beloved brother, John Jr. “Butch,” who was killed in Vietnam during our junior year of high school.
Karen's Aunt Bev wrote: I will remember Karen as a happy child growing up in our larger family. She was the youngest of my mother's grandchildren and was called "lilla du" or "little one." She had a bright smile and a laughter that was contagious. She grew into a beautiful adult with many accomplishments.
A friend wrote: I was so fortunate to be able to witness her beautiful soul, talents, charm, intelligence, goodness, humility, and empathy for those less fortunate.I will always remember the wonderful times we spent together.
