Hats off to David Troup & gang for getting this together. I've been away for 24 years - hallf in LA & Santa Barbara, half in France, and have only seen a handful of old classmates since I've been back, so hope I can renew some contacts - if I can only remember you! Any Fern Hillers around? Music's been the thread holding my life together. French has played a big part too. See ya soon. ps. Photo is from a July 4th gig last month - I'm the one in front. |

2024--Have lived in Israel (Jerusalem) since 1983 with husband, four kids and currently 10 grandchildren. I was at our 50th reunion, but have no plans to make it to the 55th or any future reunions. However, if you visit Israel (when we're not in the middle of a war!) let me know--would love to catch up! |

I retired in June after teaching High School Social Studies for 36 years. I have been married for 33 years and am an empty nester. I have 3 grown boys-30, 27 and 25. The oldest is an architect in San Diego, the middle is married and designs websites for Olsen & Co in Mpls and the youngest has started his last year in Vet school. I am very excited to get back to my favorite activities; gardening, spending time with my husband and dog, working on my house, working on scrapbooks, and other crafts, visiting my son in San Diego and enjoying every single minute. Sorry about the then picture, but that would take more time to find, so I just added another current picture. |

I left Minnesota with hardly a look back. In fact I have only been back twice, once in '86 for my father's funeral, then in '96 for a 50th wedding anniversary. But during that visit I investigated practice opportunities that unfortunately didn't work out. I applied for practice positions again in 97 and 2002. Does getting older seem to bring on nostalgia, recollections, tradition and other sentimental ideations? Or is there just no place like home? I never received info about prior reunions so I tracked this one down through a reunion planner who led me to Dave Troup. My husband and I were hoping to attend, thinking we could go to my 40th and my husband's 50th in Illinois in the same trip. Unfortunately, his reunion was changed to September and I just can't be gone from practice for 5 weeks to do both. So regretfully I will miss seeing David T, Lesley B, Donita Y, Cathy E , Linda L, Carol G, Crissy S, Kenny K and others. Prayers for Celia W, who just lost her husband. Greetings to you all from central Oregon, where we have lived for almost seven wonderful years. We have eight grown children in our blended family and just learned this week that we will be grandparents again for the 10th time. Yikes! |

Hi to all my classmates. Unfortunately I missed the last reunion which was a huge disappointment since I've been to all of the others and always had a great time. I've heard there is a possibility of a 45th reunion which would be great. Briefly, I didn't get married until I was 42 so I started late. I've got three boys, all in high school. The oldest is a senior, then a junior, and lastly a freshman. I worked for Medtronic as a software engineer for 29 yrs until they decided to eliminate my job when I was 60. Fortunately, we were in a position so I could retire rather than have to look for work. My wife is an attorney and is still working since she is younger. That's it in a nutshell. Hopefully, I'll see everyone if we have a 45th reunion.

I had a great time at the reunion. Thank you to the organizers and to our classmates who attended (from near and far away). It was wonderful to catch up with old friends and even make some new ones. We have a truly exceptional class and I'm proud to be part of SLP69. "Sometimes our light goes out but is blown again into flame by an encounter with another human being. Each of us owes the deepest gratitude to those who have rekindled this inner light." --Albert Scheitzer A former student wrote a letter of thanks to one of his teachers. She is one of the teachers people talk about at every reunion. But no one had ever told her...until she received the letter. He received the following reply: "You will never know how much your letter meant to me. I am 83 years old, and I am living all alone in one room. My friends are all gone. My family is gone. I taught 50 years and yours is the first "thank you" letter I have ever gotten from a student. Sometimes I wonder what I did with my life. I will read and reread your letter until the day I die." Both sides received life changing gifts from each other...just by a small note of appreciation for each other. I hope your days are filled with appreciation. |
